Five authors on reinterpreting the Vedas

The Veda Samhitas and Brahmans in Indic views have  quite different interpretations than the  commentary expounded by westernized writers ( à la Max Muller). Far from being texts of a primitive culture, the Vedas are repositories of advanced experience and knowledge.

Five authors whose writings pursue this viewpoint are Shri Aurobindo (Secret of the Vedas), Sawami Dayananda Saraswati, Shivramkinkar Yogatrayananda (Aryashastra Pradip, Vol 1), Rishi Anirvan (Veda Mimansas) and Shailendranarayan Ghoshal Shastri (Tapobhumi Narmada).

Scriptural texts may be interpreted in three modes, physical (ādhibhuta), divine (ādhidaiva) and spiritual (adhyatma).  Using a different terminology, they may also be experienced in the sthul, sukhsma and kārana sharira.
